Counting: 1,2,3,4,5

I wrote a blog previously talking about counting backwards and someone asked if I could suggest songs for counting forwards. So, I have listened and here it is. To read the counting backwards blog please click here: https://musicalabc.simplero.com/blog/4344-counting-5-4-3-2-1
Here are some songs and rhymes that have counting forwards within them:
-
5 fat peas in a peapod
 -
When I was 1 pirate song
 -
1 potato, 2 potato... (this is a good one to change the object depending on the topic/theme you're following)
 -
1 little, 2 little, 3 little reindeer
 -
1 little, 2 little 3 little kites
 -
1 little, 2 little, 3 little pumpkins
 -
Round and round the garden
 -
One man went to mow
 -
When Goldilocks went to the house of the bears
 -
Number one, touch your tongue
 -
1,2,3,4,5 once I caught a fish alive

If you don’t know some of those listed above, many of them are included in the Activity Ideas for ~2 to 5 years on Early Years Music Ideas.
I sometimes change the lyrics to suit a topic or theme that I am following. Have you changed any counting forwards songs? Can you think of any that I haven’t thought about? If so, I’d love to hear; please put them in the comments section below, thank you.
Happy music making!
